How to Harvest Rainbow Chard

Harvest Rainbow Chard at the baby-stage or when leaves reach maturity and the plant will grow back for continuous harvests. Check out our tips below to have the most beautiful and delicious colorful greens!

HOW TO HARVEST Rainbow Chard:

  1. After about 4 weeks of growth, or when the plants reach at least 8" tall, identify the largest, outer (baby) leaves.
  2. Work around the plants to pinch off these large leaves, taking about a quarter to a third of the total plant material. This will allow new growth to develop from the center for continuous harvests!
  3. To harvest mature Rainbow Chard leaves, wait for the plant to grow about 10"-12" tall and harvest the large leaves with the same technique described above.
  4. Here's a recipe to make your own Roots and Shoots Garden Salad.
