How to Harvest Cauliflower
Harvest Cauliflower at the right time, to get the best tasting crown. Cauliflower is a cool-loving plant, so it will produce better yields in the spring and fall.
How to Harvest Cauliflower:
- After about 65 days of growth, or when the Cauliflower plant sends up a central white "crown", it's time to harvest.
- Take a serrated knife and cut the main stalk right below the top crown. There is a short harvest window of just a few days before the white clusters of buds will "bolt" and produce flowers. The cauliflower will become bitter as it over-matures.
- Use your homegrown, tender cauliflower in salads, dip in some 3-Herb Tzatziki, or throw into a garden fresh stir-fry!
