How to Harvest Beans

Beans are fantastic to grow in the garden because they're quick to produce lots of pods! Make sure to really keep an eye out for these, they need picking every few days to stay tender and bountiful.

  1. After about 50 days of growth, keep an eye out for flowers and bean pods forming on the plants.
  2. When beans are a few inches long and filled out, gently pick off of the plant where the pod meets the stem.
  3. Continue to check for mature pods every few days, and stay on top of harvesting so the plant can continue to crank out more beans!
  4. Pickle, snack, and stir-fry your green bean bounty!
